Etymology: < classical Latin aggest-, past participial stem of aggerere to bring, carry, (by association with aggerāre aggerate v.) to heap or pile up < ag- , variant of ad- ad- prefix + gerere to carry (see gerent adj.). Compare earlier aggerate v.
Obsolete. rare.
