During the same two-year period, the business, technology and city magazine sectors all reported a decline in ad pages.

During this period, the magazine's circulation grew 30 percent, and ad pages grew 80 percent, from 700 pages to 1150.

The good times didn't last long, though, since the magazine never sold much ad pages.

This was done to allow larger illustrations such as schematics, to switch printing to offset presses, and respond to advertisers desire for larger ad pages.
