Mobile phone operators have been ordered to block some 200 websites, under the absurd and unproven claim that they are publishing fake news and contributing to instability in the country.

The scientific community may aim to communicate information about science out of concern for the public's susceptibility to unproven claims.

Many of them are illegal or dangerous and are marketed with false or unproven claims.

Examples include pseudoscience (ideas that purport to be scientific theories but have little or no scientific support), conspiracy theories, unproven claims about alternative medicine, pseudohistory and so forth.
