Originally a middle class neighbourhood, in recent years, it has become a fashionable residential enclave for the upper middle class to the upper class.

The conversion of the national historic site to a residential enclave had as of 2009 been completed on three of the several buildings on the site.

Most of the districts are primarily residential enclaves, with some other uses scattered throughout.
