(skə-mĕn, œs-) or Ust-Ka·me·no·gorsk (stkə-mĕn′ə-gôrsk, -myĭ-nə-) A city of northeast Kazakhstan on the Irtysh River south of Novosibirsk, Russia. Founded as a military outpost in 1720, it is now a metallurgical center.
