释义 | Za·greb (zägrĕb) The capital and largest city of Croatia on the Sava River in the north-central part of the country. Originally a Roman town, it came under the control of Hungary in the 1200s. During the 1800s, the city was a center of Croatian nationalism, and it became the capital of an autonomous Croatia within the kingdom of Hungary in 1868. Zagreb was a part of Yugoslavia from after World War I until 1991. |
