(krə-tōnē, krō-tōnĕ) Formerly Cro·to·na (krə-tōnə) A city of southern Italy on the Ionian Sea northeast of Reggio di Calabria. It was founded c. 708 BC as part of Magna Graecia and reached the height of its power after 510 BC.
