Cher·no·byl 
(chər-nōbəl, -bĭl) or Chor·no·byl' (chôr-)
(chər-nōbəl, -bĭl) or Chor·no·byl' (chôr-) A city of northern Ukraine near the border of Belarus. It was evacuated and remains uninhabited as a result of a major nuclear power plant accident nearby on April 26, 1986.
