(blŏk), Herbert Lawrence Known as Her·block (hûrblŏk) 1909-2001. American editorial cartoonist whose witty works appeared in the Washington Post and more than 200 other papers nationwide. He won Pulitzer Prizes in 1942, 1954, and 1979.
