decedent, n. (a.)|dɪˈsiːdənt| [ad. L. dēcēdent-em, pr. pple. of dēcēdĕre to depart, die.] A. n. One who retires from an office (obs.), deceases, or dies; a deceased person. U.S., chiefly in Law.
