ramin|ræˈmiːn| [Malay.] A tree of the genus Gonystylus, esp. G. bancanus, belonging to the family Thymelæaceæ and native to fresh-water swamps of Malaysia, Sarawak, and the Philippines; also, the light-coloured hardwood obtained from this tree.
