staneraw, n. and a. Sc.|ˈstenrɑ| Also 9 stani-, steinraw. [f. stane stone n. + raw:—OE. raᵹu lichen. Cf. Sc. aikraw lichen (f. aik = oak).] A. n. The stone-lichen Parmelia saxatilis, used for dyeing (see quot. 1861).
