dapping, vbl. n.|ˈdæpɪŋ| [f. dap v. + -ing1.] Fishing by a method in which the bait is allowed to dip or bob lightly on the water. So ˈdapper, one who daps; dap n.3, the bait used in dapping; ˈdapped ppl. a., dipped.
