† damage-cleere Law. Obs. [ad. Anglo-Fr. damage clers for damage des clers, in med.L. damna clericorum ‘clerks' costs’.] A fee formerly paid in the courts of Common Pleas, King's Bench, and Exchequer, in cases where damages were recovered: abolished in 1665.
