Of or belonging to a course; applied to certain canons of St. Asaph's and prebendaries of St. David's Cathedral in Wales.
According to some, because originally their prebends were annually changed by course or rotation: Jones & Freeman Hist. St. David's 313. Others would refer it to the ‘Cursus, officium Ecclesiasticum, seu series Orationum, Psalmorum, Hymnorum, et cæterarum precationum, quæ quotidie in Ecclesia decantatur’ (Du Cange).
