cupellation|kjuːpəˈleɪʃən| Also 8 copp-, cupp-. [f. cupel v. + -ation, after F. coupellation.] The process of assaying or refining the precious metals in a cupel; the separation of silver from argentiferous lead, on a large scale, on a cupel.
