sporont Zool.|ˈspɒrɒnt, spəˈrɒnt| [f. sporo- + Gr. ὀντ-, ὤν, pres. pple. of εἶναι to be, exist.] A protozoan cell at a stage of the life cycle following syngenesis and preceding the formation of spores.
