ˈsphygmic, a. and n. rare. Also 8 sphugmick. [ad. mod.L. sphygmicus, Gr. σϕυγµικός, f. σϕυγµός: see next.] a. n. pl. The study of the pulse. b. adj. ‘Pertaining to the pulse, or to the knowledge or doctrine of the pulse’ (Craig, 1849).
