spangolite Min.|ˈspæŋgəlaɪt| [f. the name of Norman Spang, 19th-cent. U.S. mineral collector + -ol- + -ite1.] A hydrated basic sulphate and chloride of copper and aluminium, Cu6AlSO4(OH)12Cl.3H2O, which is a secondary mineral found as pale green, prismatic or tabular, rhombohedral crystals.
