Soxhlet Chem.|ˈsɒkslət| Also soxhlet. The name of Franz Soxhlet (1848–1926), Belgian chemist, used attrib. (and † in the possessive) to denote an apparatus and method which he devised for the continuous solvent extraction of a solid.
