ablet|ˈæblɪt| Also ablette, ablen. [a. Fr. ablette ‘a little blay or bleak’ Cotgr., dim. of able:—late L. abula for albula dim. of alba white.] ‘A name given in some parts of England to the Bleak, a small fresh-water fish, Leuciscus alburnus.’ Ash 1775, Craig 1847.
