1. a. The action of crowning; the ceremony of investing a sovereign, or the consort of a sovereign, with a crown as an emblem of royal dignity, on or soon after his accession.

(also with capital initial(s)) chiefly Brit. a cold dish of cooked, usually diced chicken served in a sauce flavoured with apricots and curry spices (so named because the dish was originally created for a lunch held to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, at which it was called Poulet Reine Elizabeth).
