corneous, a.|ˈkɔːniːəs| [f. L. corne-us horny (f. cornū horn) + -ous.] Of the nature of horn, horny, horn-like. (Now only in technical use.) corneous membrane = cornea. corneous lead = phosgenite. corneous mercury: horn-mercury or calomel.
