‖ cormus [mod.L.: see corm.] 1. = corm, q.v. 2. Haeckel's name for the common stock of a plant or ‘colonial’ animal, bearing a number of individuals which originate by gemmation or budding; as applied to animals it is equivalent to polypidom.
