Skye|skaɪ| [Gaelic Sgith (skiː), recorded in OIcel. as Skíð.] a. The name of the largest island of the Inner Hebrides used attributively, esp. in Skye terrier, a small breed of dog, long-haired, long-bodied, and short-legged.
