combining form of L. colon or Gr. κόλον, see colon1, as in ˌcolo-ˈcolic a., relating to two portions of the colon; ˌcolo-enteˈritis, enterocolitis; ˌcolopliˈcation (also coliplication), the operation of unfolding or taking a reef in the colon in cases of dilatation. See also colopexy, colostomy.
