quinonoid, a. Chem.|ˈkwɪnəʊnɔɪd| [f. quinone + -oid.] Being, resembling, or characteristic of a quinone; being or exhibiting a molecular structure typified by that of quinone, viz. a doubly unsaturated ring with double bonds to two substituents (usu. in para positions).
