cobalamin Biochem.|kəʊˈbɒləmɪn| [f. cobalt + vitamin.] A name given orig. to the characteristic part of the vitamin B12 molecule (see quot. 1950), and hence used for any member of the vitamin B12 group, each of which contains this part in its molecule.
