1967Office of Naval Res. Techn. Rep. (Aerojet-General Corp.) No. 15. 1 Until very recently,..the only good method of synthesizing these closo-compounds was via the nido-carborane, C2B4H8 . 1968Inorganic Chem. VII. 1947/2 Some members of the second class have structures very close to a closed structure. When it is desirable to indicate this situation in contrast to a known closo compound, the italic prefix nido- is used. Ibid., The prefix clovo- derived from the Greek word for cage was changed to closo- at the request of the IUPAC Inorganic Nomenclature Commission. 1971,1976[see *nido a.]. 1984Greenwood & Earnshaw Chem. of Elements (1986) vi. 182 It is a general feature of closo-BnHn2- anions that there are no B–H–B or BH2 groups. |
