XXVII. 713 The term ‘sialectasis’ which has been used to describe the condition is not strictly correct etymologically, translating as ‘a stretching out or dilatation of the saliva’. 1953Brit. Med. Jrnl. 19 Dec. 1359/2 The underlying pathology in..sialectasis, sialangiectasis, or chronic recurrent parotitis, is obscure, but the essential feature is obstruction of the parotid ducts. 1974J. D.
