chromic, a. Chem.|ˈkrəʊmɪk| [f. chrome n. + -ic. Cf. F. chromique.] Of or belonging to chromium; containing chromium in chemical combination. Applied in Chem. to compounds in which chromium combines as a triad, as chromic iron = chrome iron ore; chromic chloride Cr2Cl6; chromic oxide Cr2O3; chromic acid or chromic anhydride CrO3.
