Shope Biol.|ʃəʊp|
The name of Richard Edwin Shope (1902–66), U.S. physician, used attrib. to designate a transmissible papilloma of rabbits described by him in 1932 (Jrnl. Exper. Med. LVI. 793, 803), and the DNA virus which causes it.
