shmoo U.S.|ʃmuː| [Invented word.] A fabulous animal invented by the U.S. cartoonist Al Capp in 1948. It is small and round, and ready to fulfil immediately any of man's material wants. Also, a model or toy version of this animal. Also Comb., as shmoo-like adj.
