The Dwarf Chestnut (Castanea pumila), a native of Virginia and the adjacent states, a shrubby tree, from 6 to 20 ft. high, with a small, very sweet nut. Also, the nut of this tree. water chincapin (Nelumbium luteum); western chincapin (Castanopsis chrysophylla).
