‖ chaise-longue|ʃɛzlɔ̃g| [F. chaise longue ‘long chair’. In Ogilvie's Dict. called chaise-lounge.] A kind of sofa with a rest for the back at one end only; a ‘couch’, a ‘lounge’. Also ellipt. as chaise.
