[ad. eccl. L. Sēthiān-ī (Gr. σηθιανοί) pl., f. Sēth (LXX. σήθ, Heb. shēth), the name of the son of Adam who according to the Book of Genesis was the ancestor of Noah and hence of the existing human race.]
A member of a Gnostic sect of the second century, holding Seth in great veneration, and believing that Christ was Seth revived.
