ˈCellite [a. F. cellite, ad. med.L. cellīta, f. cella (from the cells which they inhabited).] In pl. An order of lay brothers hospitallers, called also Bongaris or Alexandrins, founded c 1300; they took a special care of madmen. They are now united to the order of Servites. (Littré.)
