celesta|sɪˈlɛstə| [app. pseudo-latinization of F. céleste (cf. celeste).] A keyboard instrument with piano-like action, having hammers that strike upon steel plates placed over wooden resonators, invented by Auguste Mustel of Paris in 1886.
