‖ serratus Anat.|sɛˈreɪtəs| [mod.L. use of L. serrātus serrate.] Any of certain muscles which are inserted into the vertebral or costal region in such a way as to suggest a serrated border; esp. short for serratus magnus, which connects the eight upper ribs and the vertebral border of the shoulder-blade.
