‖ sericterium Entom.|sɛrɪkˈtɪərɪəm| Pl. -eria |-ˈɪərɪə|. Also anglicized serictery |sɪˈrɪktərɪ|. [mod.L., irreg. f. Gr. σηρικόν silk (see Seric) + -τηριον, after sialisterium (σιαλιστήριον) salivary gland of insects.] A glandular apparatus in silkworms for the production of silk; a silk or spinning gland.
