† septuaˈgesimal, a. Obs. rare. [f. L. septuāgēsim-us (see prec.) + -al1.] (See quot. 1656.) In quot. 1646 (perh. Blount's source) the sense is ‘limited to seventy years of life’; in quot. 1778 the word is misused for septuagenarian.
