Semliki Forest, n. Biol. and Med.|sɛmˈliːkɪ ˈfɒrɪst| [The name of a forest near the Semliki River in east Central Africa (see quot. 1944).] Used attrib. in Semliki Forest virus, an insect-borne togavirus used extensively as an experimental organism in genetic research.
