capernoitie, n. Sc.|kæpərˈnɔɪtɪ| [Etymology unknown.] Head, noddle. Hence perhaps caperˈnoity a., caperˈnoited a., ‘crabbed, irritable, peevish’ (Jam.); slightly affected in the head by drinking, muddle-headed, wrong-headed; also caperˈnoitedness.
