[After G. selen selenium.] In names of certain minerals containing or formerly supposed to contain selenium, as † ˌselenˈcuprite = berzelianite. † ˌselenˈpalladite, -paˈlladium = allopalladium. † ˌselenˈsilver = naumannite. ˌselenˈsulphur, a native variety of elemental sulphur containing a small proportion of selenium. ˌselenteˈllurium, a native compound of selenium and tellurium.
