butterwort|ˈbʌtəwɜːt| In 6 also -worts. [f. butter n.1 + wort; cf. quot. 1597.] A plant with yellowish-green fleshy leaves (Pinguicula vulgaris) common on boggy ground; also the English name of the genus Pinguicula.
