buppie, n. colloq. (orig. U.S.)|ˈbʌpɪ| Also Buppie, buppy. [Blend of black a. and yuppie n. or acronym f. the initial letters of black urban professional + -ie.] A member of a socio-economic group comprising young black professional people working in cities. Freq. considered mildly derog.
