bullescence Bot.|bʊˈlɛsəns| [as if ad. Lat. *bullescentia f. pres. pple. of bullesc-ĕre to bubble.] A term applied to the condition occurring in leaves when the inter-venous structure rises above the veins, as in the Savoy cabbage. Cf. bullate.
