† ˈbrusit, ppl. a. Sc. Obs. Also 6 brysit. [In form this agrees with the pa. pple. of bruise v., but the connexion of sense is not manifest. The sense recalls med.L. brustus, brusdus, brosdus = brodatus, brudatus, Fr. brodé, embroidered; cf. brusery.] Embroidered.
