brugmansia Bot.|brʊgˈmænzɪə| [mod.L., f. the name of S. J. Brugmans (1763–1819), Dutch botanist: see -ia1.] 1. A plant of the solanaceous genus so named, native to S. America (formerly included under the genus Datura), the species of which have white, orange, or red tubular blossoms.
