scissile, a.|ˈsɪsaɪl, -ɪl| [ad. L. scissilis, f. scindĕre to cut or divide. Cf. F. scissile (1611 Cotgr.), It. scissile.] Capable of being cut or divided; spec. in Min., that splits into laminæ, esp. of alum; in Chem., capable of being broken (cf. scission 3 a.)
